This yoga course is designed to deepen your personal practice and enhance your understanding of advanced yoga techniques. You will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, including the teaching methodologies necessary to become a professional yoga teacher. Upon successful completion of the training, graduates will be certified as yoga teachers, accredited by Samma Karuna and Yoga Alliance International.

Our retreat focuses on yoga as a path to self-realization and healing, incorporating a variety of yoga practices. Rooted in the path of love, our school aims for self-realization and liberation from suffering. The retreat emphasizes the development of inner strength, healing, and self-understanding, while fostering qualities such as love, simplicity, and compassion. It guides participants to release the illusion of control and embrace a state of spiritual surrender.
The application requirements for our Yoga Teacher Training course:
The prerequisites to enroll in our Yoga Teacher Training are:
- Previous experience on a yoga asanas practice
- A true commitment to learn and motivation to become a Yoga teacher (even if you don't have plans to teach in the near future).
- Being able to meditate in stillness for 1hr or more.
- A fluent and satisfactory reading, speaking and comprehensible level of English.
- A high level of self-discipline and a full-day commitment for everyday of the course is required as it is physically and mentally demanding.
- In order to be considered for either of these 3 modules you need to pay an online deposit and fill in the application form that will be forwarded to you by email.
- If your course application is not accepted a full refund of the deposit will be issued.
Meet your Yoga teachers:
Ishi
Ishi is founder of Samma Karuna, Yoga and Tantra teacher as well as creator of the syle of breathwork known as Tetra breath and the system of BioDevelopment, along with many active meditations and techniques combining breath, movement and expression. Ishi currently leads the 3 main schools of Samma Karuna.
Elena
Elena, originally from Spain, left her career in marketing and finance to pursue her passion for yoga. She completed a 200-hour Yoga TTC at Samakaruna in 2015 and has been professionally teaching since then. Certified in pranayama, meditation, and mindfulness, as well as a registered 500-hour teacher, Elena specializes in asana practice, including Vinyasa, Power Yoga, Hatha, and Restorative Yoga.
Paula
Paula is a Yoga Teacher, Registered Nurse, Reiki Master, and Intuitive Energy Practitioner with a holistic approach to life. A dedicated yoga practitioner since 2011, Paula strongly believes in our innate power and capacity to achieve balance in every aspect of life.
Elle
Elle is a dedicated Thai Yoga and Vipassana meditation teacher who embraces the Buddhist way of life, infusing compassion and kindness into all her actions.
Elle has more than 12 years of experience in yoga and is dedicated to share it passionately. Additionally, she has been practicing & teaching Vipassana meditation consistently. She is devoted teacher who has offered regular daily classes, led teacher training courses and retreats internationally.

- 07.15 to 08.15: Vipassana Meditation
- 08.30 to 10.30: Asana Practice
- 11.00 to 12.30: Lunch Break
- 12.30 to 13.30: Meditation, Yoga Nidra or Yoga Theory
- 13.40 to 14.40: Yoga Philosophy, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras or Anatomy
- 14.40 to 16.00 Tea Break
- 16.00 to 17.30: Asana Practice
- 18.00 to 19.00: Art of Teaching, Physiology or Adjustment & Alignment
Sundays are your day off. The schedule structure will remain the same throughout, but the topics will change according to the program.

We offer a range of accommodations, from shared dormitories to private bungalows with amenities and scenic sea views. You can select your preferred lodging option when booking your course. Accommodations are available within our campus or at our neighboring partner resort.
Type D
Single bed in a 4 beds mixed gender dorm with A/C (included).
Type C
Standard bungalow with A/C shared with another student (€ 425 for 4 weeks accommodation).
Type B
Standard private bungalow with A/C (€ 850 for 4 weeks accommodation).
Type A
Comfortable and spacious bungalow with more amenities and a sea view (€ 1,320 for 4 weeks accommodation).

The YTTC was incredible - absolutely amazing teachers and course structure - but that is a whole review on it's own. The work-trade program is a great experience as well, and I was grateful for the opportunity to live and volunteer there, getting to practice teaching yoga to people that were so supportive, compassionate, and encouraging to me as a new teacher. The work-trade I felt was very flexible to what I was interested in. The volunteer leader at the time I was there, Marian, was such an amazing person, and I hope she's still there!

I tried several Yoga centers in Koh Phangan, and Samma Karuna is by far the best center. Relaxed vibes, but serious and diverse teachings and teachers. Ishi the owner is an open minded director , respectful and serious. Fantastic location just on the beach !

I did my yoga teacher training course there back in 2015 and have done many more since then with breathwork (1 & 2) last year in Greece and I'm very looking forward to finish breathwork (3) this year in Greece again. It's always good to comeback and feel like in the loving family they are becoming.

What an awesome experience!! I went to Samma Karuna to do 500H yoga teacher training, super happy with my choice and would highly recommend for anyone who is looking to deepen their physical and spiritual practice! Schedule is quite intense in a good way; you will have different classes thru out the day: Yoga practice, different types of meditations, philosophy, breath work, tantra, self inquiry and others. Not only you grow as a yoga teacher but you also go deep within and learn a lot about who you are!

I finished a 500 hours Yoga TTC, and I loved it, the course, the teachers, the school, the food, the volunteers, the practices we have to do, and specially my fellow students, we really became a lovingly family during our time in here. I do not normally write reviews, but I love Samma Karuna, I keep coming and doing courses and more courses. This place makes me happy and has been doing so for many years. There might be other courses around, but none as good and with so much heart and love like this one.
